Stats

This is everything campinge.eu counts — not a summary of it, the whole thing. The tools here are free and ask nothing of you, and the only way to know whether anyone uses them is to count something. So a short list of things is counted: that someone visited, and that a tool finished the job it exists to do. Rather than keep the results to myself, they are on this page.

No cookies. No accounts. No profile, no fingerprint, no per-visitor record of any kind — the database behind this page holds daily totals and nothing else, so it could not tell you what any one person did even if someone asked it nicely. The details are in the privacy notice.

What is not counted

  • No cookie, no localStorage, no device fingerprint — nothing is stored in your browser by the counter, so there is nothing to clear and nothing to opt out of.
  • No IP address is ever written down. It is used for the length of one request to work out a country, then discarded.
  • No page paths, no search terms, no URLs — only the host a visit came from (news.ycombinator.com, not the link that was clicked).
  • Nothing from inside the tools. Not a screenshot, not a project name, not a slide, not a measurement, not a body dimension. The tools report that something finished and how big it was; that is the entire payload.
  • Nothing from your browser at all if it sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.

Counters are day-scoped. Telling a returning visitor from a new one uses a one-way token built from a secret that is thrown away and regenerated every night, so the same browser is unrecognisable tomorrow — by anyone, including me.

Two RailBridge numbers are counted on the server instead of in a browser, because the thing making the request is the app, not a page: the installer download, and the update check the app makes against latest.json. Those are ordinary web requests to this site, counted as a daily total exactly like everything else here — no identifier, nothing about your machine, nothing tied to an install. Being outside a browser, they are also outside anything Do Not Track can say.
